Christmas Eve.

This christmas was just so perfect, despite the melting snow and it not being cold enough to get more snow, it was, in my opinion truly magical.

So usually on christmas eve our family (mother, father, sister, cousins, aunt and uncle, sometimes the grandparents) will do something christmassy in the day with a walk somewhere and then eat chinese in the evening. This is really lovely and I enjoy being with all my family so much. However this year we decided to do something different as other than my father's brother's family, all my family were down in London.

We decided on going to Westminster Abbey for their annual service. We trawled up there and got into the extremely long line and waited our turn to be seated. We finally sat down and my cousin and I wanted to look around and so we found many interesting graves and engravings on the wall and also the infamous Poet's Corner which consisted of names like Byron, Austen, Shakespeare, Orwell etc. The service started and so we sat down and listened. The choir music was just spectacular as was the lights and decoration. Unfortunately pictures weren't allowed but here is one from afterwards:

Despite coming from a pretty indian-oriented family due to my mother, aunt and grandparents living there for like 20 years, my cousin Jess (pictured) hates spice. Instead of eating chinese, we went to Pizza Express on the Thames by the Globe Theatre.

It was a wonderful day and I really recommend everyone to see the service maybe next year!
